Where Should I Live Next Year?

I’m soliciting advice for living options next year. Right now the only places I’ve really considered have been Middlebrook New Addition and Riverbend Commons.

  1. Middlebrook:
    • Benefits:
      • I’d know a bunch of people living here
      • It’s pretty affordable
      • I’ve already lived here once
      • Negatives:
      • It’s on the west bank and all of my classes are on the east bank
      • The rooms are still pretty small
    • Stuck with dorm food for another year
  2. Riverbend:
    • Benefits:
      • Bigger rooms
      • A kitchen so I could cook
      • Closer to all of my classes
      • Negatives:
      • More expensive
      • I’d have to learn how to cook for myself
  • Wouldn’t know as many people living there

Does anybody have any suggestions? Off campus housing would certainly be an option as well.

Moving Back In

Oh wow! I’m so psyched to move back into the dorms! I miss everybody so much. Right now I’m just waiting for a ride back to Middlebrook. My mom doesn’t want to drive me since my sister isn’t home yet, and then they have Alias to watch after that (I can’t blame them, it’s a darn good show—and I’ll just download it and watch it later anyway). So maybe I’ll be able to get a ride back at 9. Or if that doesn’t work I know my dad will give me a ride back as soon as he gets off work at 10. So at most 3 hours until dorm life begins again!

My Head Hurts

The plastic surgery wasn’t too bad. They just numbed me up and sliced away. I had 2 moles and one cyst removed. The other two moles will have to wait until the summer (they were smaller/less irritating). The topical anesthetic is starting to wear off (which sucks), but I just took some tylenol and I’m hoping that’ll help with the pain. And I’ve got some vicodin left over from my wisdom teeth removal that should help me fall asleep easily tonight. Just seven days with the stitches until I can get them removed :).

Mole Removal

11 hours until I get some moles removed on my head. I’m a little nervous, but I’m sure it’ll all go well.

Sorry the updates have been so sparse, but there’s just nothing that important going on in my life currently!

Ooh, when school starts up again be prepared for the new revamping of my self-hosted website, at which point I’ll move my blog there. For a preview see http://froehle.dyndns.org:88/ during the hours that my computer is on (ie noonish-midnight).

(Or for an older (but partially abandoned) and similar project, see http://www-users.itlabs.umn.edu/~froe0071/).

Todo: Mole Removal

In 11 hours I’m having a mole removal procedure for a couple moles on my head. They won’t have time to get to all of them, but at least they should take care of the couple really big ones.

Here’s to hoping that all goes well!

Flat Tire

Yay for my POS car. 10 years old… at least it still runs. But really, why do I have to get a flat on one of the coldest days of the year. Oh well, the spare went on with a little difficulty (the flat tire had somehow frozen onto the car and required a couple good hits with a hammer to get off) and all is better now.

Hopefully this’ll be the only such incident this year.

MWSF

I can’t wait for the Keynote Address at Mac World San Francisco TOMORROW!. I’ll be heading to the Apple Store at the Mall of America to watch, in favor of watching it at home over a video stream. With rumors running rampant, it’ll be interesting to see which are true and which aren’t.

I need to take a shower and head to work. Then it’ll be sleep time in order to awake at the 11am broadcast! (Although I’m aiming to get to the MOA by 10:15 or so in order to get a seat—-last time at the WWDC Keynote the place was totally packed and I got one of the last seats).

I  my Mac.
