Ok, fixed the problems with the site in IE. The code for the tabs was adapted from waferbaby and is therefore under a creative commons license. My first try at tabs was a modified version of an example at SimpleBits. I’m still not sure what made it not work—IE is just dumb I guess.

Looks like crap on IE 6
Well I tested the page in Safari and Mozilla/Firebird and it looks great. So I guess it would be too much to ask for it to look ok in IE as well. Hahaha. So now I need to fix it. Arggg.
Sorry!
New Feature: Breadcrumbs
Finished implementation of breadcrumb navigation on all of the pages. (Notice the “crumbs: <blah>” right underneath the top logo). Also updated the comments popup (where you can add/view comments) to have the same color scheme as the rest of the site.
New projects:
- Make text more easily viewable
- Darken the color of the text
- Consider changing justification
- Consider changing line spacing
- Fix color scheme to be more visually appealing
- Add more pages like about, pictures, resume, etc
- Add tabs to allow easy access to the various “sections” (ie, main, archives, about, pictures, etc etc)
My New Home in Cyberspace
Sorry about the horribly long URL. There’s not much I can do to avoid it :(. If the page looks broken in some way to you or the color scheme is just so horrible (I know.. I am colorblind-at least a little), please drop me an email.
I’m really looking forward to moving back into the dorms in just a few days! Right now the plan looks like hauling most of my stuff to the U on Saturday, working on Sunday, and then moving in either Sunday night or Monday morning.
The stitches in my head seem to be healing great. The one has a scab growing over it, but I assume that’ll be okay. If any of y’all want pictures, I’m sure I could send them.
Speaking of pictures, I’ll reiterate that I have Sun Bowl Pictures available for your viewing pleasure.
Brad’s New Blog
Starting Anew
Well, I’m unhappy with the previous layout. It was too kludgy. And borrowed. Not that I would plagiarize. Ok, so the new layout will be spiffy. But you know that means I’ll be a perfectionist and you’ll never get to see it. Mwuhahahah! Ok, one major change so far is a more sane layout for the “Archives”—I mean the permanent link to this article will be like /blog/2004/01/16/starting_anew.html or something logical, not /archives/0000565.html. So it’s a little longer than before, but that’s life. This is just so much better ™. (Well I’m not sure if it’s trademarked, but I like using that hah!)
New Style Sheets
Well, I suppose I need to learn CSS style sheets to make this thing look pretty. Right now I’m trying some that I found online. I kinda like this “stormy’‘ one, but it doesn’t look so good w/o enough content in the left column. Maybe that’s a sign that I need to write more here :-).
ITLabs
Well I finally got this thing setup over at ITLabs. The confusion was mostly over perl, as /usr/bin/perl was version 5.0.something that didn’t have a lot of modules (namely DB_File) available. However, with a quick switch to Perl 5.6.0 (/soft/perl5.6-bin/perl) fixed everything.
Ahh, such is life… more later.

Trying out Kung-Log
The interface looks cool, but the fact that the whole thing is strangely transparent is a little creepy. Well, who am I to talk about creepy….
