Well, it looks to me it’s for detecting how long a button is held down for, and doing different things depending on how long it’s held down, rather than just double clicking. Not that there isn’t a shitload of prior art for that too… Palms have had utilities to do this since OS 1, at least five or six years before MS filed. Stupid patent office…
