I usually don’t write about religion and such here, but this is just too much for me to take. This The Truth For Youth propaganda that some right wing catholic zealots are crazy. I mean it’s one thing to skew the facts to support your point of view, but some of the crap they say (especially in the video — the link is in the upper right) is outrageous.

For example (as Ann Marie points out):

• The US is not number one in illiteracy, and even if we were, it’s not because of a lack of religion in our youth.

• The founding fathers did not base America off of religion. In fact there is something called the separation of church and state — not the let’s just force everyone to believe in the holy bible that they are trying.

Ooh, and the gay comment just floors me. How can someone have the audacity to say something like “It’s a shame that they gay people too lazy that they come out of the closet instead of cleaning the closet” (ie, it’s too bad that they’re admitting to being gay rather than converting to homosexuality — I kind of butchered the quote a little — it’s in the movie).

I have no tolerance for people who are bigots in the name of God. God preaches tolerance and acceptance!
